WHO WE ARE AND PURPOSE: The Kearney High School Theatre Booster organization is dedicated to providing assistance and support to the KHS theatre students, theatre director and the Thespian Troupe #1811. We are a group of parents and community volunteers that meet monthly with the theatre director to provide support and coordinate theatre activities throughout the year. Meetings are typically on the Second Monday of the month at 6:30 p.m., please watch the school calender for location. WHAT IS A THEATRE BOOSTER? In addition to meeting attendance, you can support the KHS theatre students by becoming a Booster member and/or becoming a volunteer. Funds raised through donations allow the theatre boosters to provide items needed for performances as well as additional expenses not otherwise covered. 2019-2020 SUPPORT PROVIDED: ● STATE THESPIANS - Support provided by boosters for this event in January, in order to make it affordable for KHS attendees. ● SCHOLARSHIPS - The KHS Theatre Boosters provided (2) one-time scholarships of $250 to 2020 graduating KHS seniors. ● AS-NEEDED EXPENSES - Special support provided to both the theatre department as well as individual KHS students. (Examples include such items as professional cast & crew photos, batteries for wireless microphones, student scholarships for the annual thespian festival in January, and pizza for strike parties & performance days).
